September 20th dawned rea11y nice with sunshine and not too warm weather and fourteen of us made the trip to somewhere out in the "boonies" past St. Cloud and Holopaw, where we had a really good Bar-B-Q lunch. Following the lunch, we mounted a swamp buggy and went on a ride through some of Florida's wilderness areas. This was very interesting and the history of the vast acreage was fascinating. A local physician and his family are preserving "Forever Florida" ranch in memory of their son who died with cancer. This young man had loved this land all of his life and the family is committed to keeping it as is and for the public to enjoy. Enjoy it we did! On the return trip from this wilderness we took the back roads through the old town of Kissimmee (been in existence since early 1800s), Poinciana, passing by Norman Matthew's place in Haines City and separating and going separate ways in Lake Alfred.
